Summary

Position Summary:

The Radio General Sales Manager (GSM) contributes to the company's success by maximizing revenue potential within the local Dallas market.  The GSM will be instrumental in coaching Account Managers on maintaining and developing existing and new customers, while optimizing quality of service, business growth and customer satisfaction.  The GSM is also responsible for growing and effectively promoting the station’s products including media, NTR, Digital and Social Media and other services to achieve revenue growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the team on prospecting, developing, and growing new local business opportunities and maintain and strengthen existing accounts.
  • Maintain oversight of all business metrics and sales targets, including accountability for inventory management and pricing.
  • Stay current on competition and market changes.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of station’s products and services; champion the value and solutions that our products and services provide our clients.
  • Recruit, develop and train sales team on effective sales and marketing strategies that maximize sales opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with clients by identifying clients’ advertising needs and developing customized, win - win solutions that add value.
  • Oversee creation of effective presentation and client proposals, monitor reports to track pending deals, forecasts, advertiser, contact, prospect lists and other reports to keep management updated on business opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with internal departments to manage account stewardship through process.

Requirements:

  • Leadership skills demonstrated by coaching, developing and mentoring sales team.
  • Excellent relationship builder; enjoys being in front of clients.
  • Goal driven and self-motivated individual that challenges team to exceed targets.
  • Excellent written, verbal, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in media sales; 5 years’ experience in sales management.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a high pressured, fast paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Strong marketing, presentation and closing skills.
  • Bilingual: English/Spanish preferred but not required.
  • Bachelor degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of MS Office products: MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
